The original 5-phase footbed with which all Berkemann models are equipped is based in its constructive features on the Berkemann original gymnastics sandal developed by foot orthopaedists in the 1950s for the prevention of foot misalignment. Developed over the decades and repeatedly adapted to the latest foot orthopaedic findings, the principles of action of the original 5-phase footbed have remained the same over time: the active support of the natural rolling process when walking and the passive support of the foot anatomy when standing. In addition, this footbed specially stimulates and trains the foot and calf muscles, activates the venous valve function, dampens the energy of the appearance, thus protecting the joints and thus has a positive effect on the entire musculoskeletal system. This Berkemann comfort model has a high-quality PU sole with robust, distinctive profiling as well as additional grippy rough tread surfaces for a secure step. At the same time, the water-driven and thus environmentally friendly PU has a cushioning effect by absorbing appearance energy.
